November / December 2022

Our decorations are up and the home is looking very festive indeed with presents under the tree ready for the big day.

We had our own Christmas party where family and friends were invited. Seems such a long time now since we have had so many people along to our parties. It was lovely to see everyone having such a good time.

We had lots of events going on during the festive period. We were lucky to be invited down to our local secondary school for their Christmas Coffee Morning. We were spoilt with cakes, biscuits and sandwiches and were waited on by some of the schools SEN children. We sang carols and did a couple of games to win some prizes. Everyone had a lovely time and we all were given some chocolates to take home with us.

Our usual Tuesday club in New Ash Green planned a Christmas event for the community. The hall was filled with Christmas decorations, music, dancing and plenty of food. Some of us got up and danced and we all got into the festive spirit and wore our silly hats.

Here’s looking forward to 2023.

Merry Christmas everyone.

October 2022

We’ve been out each week to our local Village Hall to join in with singing, tea, coffee and biscuits. We love getting out and mixing with others and last week we sat with our good friends from The Hollies Care Home in Meopham. As usual some of us are lucky to win a prize from the raffle.

Every week we also like to pop out to our local pub or tea shop. We often visit The Royal Oak in Ash where some of us enjoy a tipple or a good old brew.

Nicki is busy planning some halloween activities and decorations for us to do so we can then decorate our Home for all to see. Don’t worry, we won’t make it too scary - or will we….Ha Ha Ha….

Of course we will have a litlle Halloween bash and I’m sure we will have a spooktacular time.

August/ September 2022

It’s been another busy time for us at Fairby, preparing for our Annual Summer Fete.

We squeezed in another Boat Trip on the Medway, sailing down through Teston lock and stopping at East Farleigh for a picnic on board The Kingfisher Boat. Debbie was out Skipper on board with 3 other lovely crew members. Suzy also hopped off and helped open/close the locks. Residents loved to see us working on the locks and waving to us from the boat. We had music on board for a good old sing-along too. The 4-hour trip was so relaxing. Already looking forward to next years trips.

As the weather was so incredibly hot - we postponed the fete to Saturday 3rd September. The day couldn’t have been any better. The weather was just right for a BBQ, singing and dancing to the music and sitting chatting with loved ones. It was a pleasure seeing so many relatives, friends and staff turn up for our long-awaited summer fete.
