December 2015

Christmas was a fun time at Fairby Grange.  We held our annual Xmas party where relatives and friends joined us for mince pies and mulled wine whilst being entertained by Sian, a local young singer.  Some members of staff  joined in as backing singers, which certainly brought a smile to everyones faces!!  Our Christmas raffle raised £66 - many thanks to all who donated beautiful and yummy gifts and to those who purchased tickets.

We were lucky to be invited to an 'Airforce Christmas Party' for the second year running.  Our residents were collected by minibus and taken to the party where they enjoyed afternoon tea and dancing with the local Mayer and Air Cadets.

Our dedicated knitters very proudly showed off their knitted napkin ring holders for Christmas Day lunch.

We are all looking forward to the year ahead. We are planning themed lunches, such as Burns Night, Chinese New Year, Valentines and many more exciting events.

Happy New Year.

November 2015

November was a busy time for us at Fairby; Halloween Lunch, cake decorating, and not to mention our trip to the theatre.  Approximately 10 residents attended The Orchard theatre in Dartford and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

We've been decorating cupcakes for a tea time treat - a regular activity that we love.

Our knitters have made a start on the Christmas napkin rings.  Beautiful, festive red and green napkin rings with a small Christmas Tree on top.  These will look fantastic on our tables during the Christmas period.

Janet our activity lady is sadly leaving us at the end of November and will be sadly missed, although I'm sure we will still see plenty of her !!

September/October 2015

We have still been reaping the benefits from our vegetable patch and enjoying the last of the sunny days.

Autumn is here and we are now preparing for our Halloween lunch, which will be held on Saturday 31st October.  We will be entertained by singing and dancing and a raffle.

We will be making pipe cleaner spiders and other scary creations to help decorate the home.  Our many talented knitters will be working on various projects too - plenty of wool required!!  We have ideas of knitting napkin rings, sugar pot covers and bunting.

A few residents chose to go to the Theatre for their wish on our 'Wish Tree'.  This is being arranged and their wish will come true.
