February / March 2022

Despite the winter chills outside, we managed to get out and about to Libby’s Cafe in New Ash Green for an afternoon coffee and slice of cake. Libby used to be one of our Chefs who took the plunge and opened her very own Cafe in Ash. We like to pop in every now and again for a coffee and catch up.

We are also getting back out into the community to see our old friends and went to Memory Cafe to have a sing a long, chat, coffee and raffle. 4 out of 5 of us were lucky to win a prize. It means so much to us to be out amongst the community once again. We don’t like to miss out on the fun.

We celebrated Shrove Tuesday with some lovely pancakes, lemon and sugar. Who can resist pancakes!!

Our fish are doing well and are thriving in their new home. Take a look in our video section to see how beautiful they are. We may add one or two more this year; if our pond expert Billy gives us the go ahead.

We are going to celebrate Mothers Day with a good old fashioned afternoon tea of cakes, scones, tea and coffee.

January 2022

What a lovely way to start a new year with some games and drawing pictures for our loved ones to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

So far we have enjoyed an Australian Themed party as our lovely Nicki is Australian. She made us a lovely Lamington Cake for us all to try. We had fun dressing up in the Aussie hat whilst Nicki was teaching us some traditional Aussie saying. As Nicki would say, ‘ we had a beaut arvo’.

One of our night girls brought her new puppy, Nalah in to see us all. We couldn’t resist a cuddle from the little bundle of fluff. She is welcome to pop in anytime to see us.

We enjoyed an afternoon of singing and dancing with ‘Peter Kneebone’ who sang some good old oldies. Of course, the wine and Baileys came out too.

November / December 2021

Well 2021 is nearly over. We celebrated a few birthdays in November by playing some old traditional games like pin the tail on the donkey and pass the parcel. It brought back lots of memories and we have a good old laugh, especially at where some of the tails were stuck on the donkey.

For Remembrance Day we coloured in some poppies - I must admit we have some very arty residents amongst us.

Our new interactive table arrived and we use it to play quizzes on, swipe away balloons and other various items to reveal other pictures underneath. It certainly is a very impressive table with plenty of ideas to choose from to suit everyone.

We had our Christmas Party on Saturday 4th December and played some lovely games of knock down the snowman, dressed up with silly mask props and had a good giggle. We made large marshmallow snowman - which we ate of course and had a sing and dance in the lounge.

Unfortunately COVID restricted us from having family members in, but we all enjoyed the party food, singing and dancing all together.

We are all looking forward to 2022 and hope that things will improve so more family can come in once again.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR.
