October 2019

During October we had a lovely visit by the Riverside Rockers, who sang and entertained us for the morning.

We also started a ‘Fairby Shop’, where residents can purchase sweets, toiletries and other items.

We celebrated Halloween with a fancy afternoon tea, with Mels’ delightful cakes.

The nursery children came in to see us and played in the lounge with some residents. We look forward to our monthly visit from them.

September 2019

We have taken advantage of Septembers lovely weather and been out and about. We made our yearly visit to Kenward Trust in Yalding to meet their beautiful Alpacas, followed by a delicious afternoon tea. There were 6 alpacas this year, including 3 very cheeky babies, Romeo, Luigi and Max. We got to touch them and even feed them, for those that were brave enough.

We have been on 2 boat trips this September. The Kingfisher Boat sailed us down The Medway, and their lovely crew help serve tea and coffee and cakes of course!

Our rear garden is taking shape. The patio is complete, giving us a lot more space to enjoy the fresh air. Just waiting for our new Koi now. We are all very excited to welcome them.

We had the talented Salvatore visit us for some singing and dancing.

Preparations will soon begin for our Halloween party and then Christmas of course. I wonder what Mel has in store for us this year.

July / August 2019

The rear garden project is well underway. The patio has been extended and the fish tank is nearly ready for some beautiful Koi Carp.

We ventured out to Millbrook Garden Centre to the Butterfly Experience. There were butterflies floating around us, landing on us and feeding on surrounding fruit. One landed on Edna’s ear - it looked like an earring. Very funny. Of course, we stopped for coffee & cake in their lovely new restaurant.

We had another Ballroom Dancing session in the dining room. Simon, the dancer gets everyone up and dancing and having a fantastic time.

We also were lucky enough to visit our monthly ‘Memory Cafe’ at Wellfield Community Centre on their 5th Anniversary. There was a lovely cake, free raffle and singing to do.
