February 2017

February seemed such a short month but we had lots of fun things organised.

'Santino' sang for us on Valentines Day.  We made some beautiful tasty cupcakes too.

Shove Tuesday - we had a bit of fun tossing pancakes in the lounge, and of course, we had pancakes for lunch.

On top of all that, we have had new carpets being laid throughout the Home.  Fairby is now looking even more beautiful than before!!  See our gallery section for before & after photos.

January 2017

During January we enjoyed a few celebrations:

Burns Night, where we had haggis and neeps.

Chinese New Year, where we tasted Spring Rolls, Sweet 'n' Sour chicken, Szechuan Chicken, noodles and prawn crackers.  Our dining room was decorated with chinese lanterns, dancing dragons and glittery table decorations.

We also celebrated a residents 90th Birthday with tasty cakes, music and dance.

Music for Health visited us for the second time.  See our Video in our new video section.

Events coming up

Valentines Day - music by Guitarist 'Santorini'.

Vera Lynn Day - Mel is organising a special Vera Lynn quiz and music compilation.

December 2016

December certainly was a busy month for us at Fairby.

We were lucky to be invited again to a Christmas party held by the RAF Cadets in Dartford, where we were served sandwiches, cakes and coffee.  There was plenty of dancing and singing too and at the end of the day, we sang Christmas Carols, then handed a present, which was a lovely surprise.

Our Christmas party went really well - we were entertained by the production company, 'Tickled Pink', who sang and danced for us, whilst we ate mince pies and drank mulled wine. Residents and their relatives thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Next was a special party for one of our residents, who turned 95.  A regular singer; Jason put on a lovely show for us and we all ate birthday cake and other party foods.

Christmas Day had such a warm and lovely atmosphere and it was pleasure to see a few relatives join us for Christmas Day Lunch too.

We are looking forward to 2017 which I'm sure will be full of events and other exciting things to do.
