July 2024

Where has the sun gone !!! Summer is not quite here yet but, it hasn’t stopped us from going out and enjoying our garden. We’ve managed to grow some lovely flowers in our planter which are thriving in this weather. We sit and watch our fish swimming around the pond.

We went on another Boat trip where some of us went out to help with the locks and steer the boat. Those who steered the boat were awarded a certificate by Debbie the Skipper. We spotted cormorants dipping into the river to catch fish, 2 Kingfisher birds and a heron. Such a relaxing day out on the river.

Our Summer Fete this year is to be held on Saturday 27th July. Preparations are underway, selling raffle tickets and putting stickers on bottles for the tombola stall.

Later on in the year, one of our staff is holding an ‘Afternoon Tea’ for our residents and 2 members of their family/friends. This will be a lovely indoor event with plenty of food and an singer to entertain us.

May/ June 2024

We have enjoyed a couple of trips out this year on the Kingfisher Boat. We have our lunch on board whilst sailing down the River Medway followed by games and singing. Some of us are brave enough to have a go at steering the boat under the supervision of Debbie our Skipper.

Each month we have ‘Tiny Tigers Pre-Schoolers’ visit us. The children play games with us in the lounge and we all join in. We really look forward to them coming to see us.

We’ve ventured out to Camer park for a quick ice cream in the lovely weather.

Our monthly quiz was held at The Hollies during May and back to Fairby for June. The Hollies won the trophy in May and June. Better luck next time Fairby.

We celebrated Fathers Day with cupcakes, chocolates and a good old sing song.

We have lots of plans for Fairby this year. We are refurbishing our kitchen during October with new equipment, new flooring and wall coverings. We also upgraded our electric supply to 3Phase to enable us to have our new induction hob. Exciting times ahead.

April 2024

We have been really busy in April……

We had ‘ZooLab’ visit us again bringing a variety of animals including a snake, rat, bearded dragon and a praying mantis. Most residents and some brave members of staff held the animals and were fascinated to learn all about them.

We were also invited to RedLibbets Golf Club in Ash for a quiz morning and afternoon tea. We all participated and thorougly enjoyed the lunch provided. It’s so nice to get out and about to various events in our local Community.

We will be celebrating St Georges Day with flags, bunting and decorating cakes on the day. We will also be going to our usual Tuesday Club in New Ash Green who I’m sure will have some music and dancing to entertain us.
